What a fantastic Champion Asda are at supporting local charities all over the country and with over £1.9m already given to good causes Yet again inchgarth community centre pops out of the woodwork and muddies the water of OSCR by yet again proclaiming we are a registered charity, YES WE ARE!

This time ASDA is in the frame for supporting an very none registered Scottish charity, here I was sitting waiting to get my bloods taken looking through my phones photos and spots a photo taken 2 months ago already posted on this site on the 24 January here and totally missed the significance of what the evidence was before us.

Asda Bridge of Dee where inchgarth community centre is at the centre of an probe by the Asda foundation has today been photographed telling the customers of that store that inchgarth community centre is one of their Asda supported charities when they are not a register charity at all!

We are left gobsmacked inchgarth stated in November last year they were an charitable Association then claimed they never meant say they were indeed a charity, now this asda’s community notice board now says they support local charities and inchgarth is listed as one today and two months ago at least, no much wonder people think they are they must be if Asda’s flagship store says it it must be true!

Who at bridge of dee is responsible for checking adverts placed on the board are genuine, we said in another post we had heard inchgarth people were comming in at the end of the night changing their posters so only they were showing, we even alerted the local store and was told its not true.

Now if that was not bad enough check the advert by clicking on it does that look commercial to you nothing to do with the registered charity inchgarth, when will they learn?

BETTER HURRY ALONG TO WITNESS IT FOLKS IT WONT BE THERE FOR LONG NOW!

Below is yet another screen capture showing that there was always in place a way to deal with all Aberdeen Community Centres when there was an issue arose with regards Repairs and Maintenance of the said buildings.

Below you can see what Mr Paul O’Connor thinks while in the guise of an admin in the now totally discredited face-book hate campaign against the labour administration last year where he said he would not sign while his brothers in other centres held out for a better deal, he was one of the first to capitulate just like we said he would because his centre was a cash cow he could never give up but used other centres for his own means and ends!

As any of our readers can see for themselves O’Connor was very quick to use these said regulations to beat council leaders over the head with when it suited him and his office bearers but only 6 months earlier they were telling a different story to Asda,

We were told at the time by two female senior Asda office staff that Councillor Townson was the middleman between Inchgarth and Adsa, they said, “there cant be anything wrong as councillor Townson has been the middleman” well that’s alright then, not!

What is even more surprising was the fact O’Connor came back at 2.58am as our readers can and said what he said above.

As you can also see ex bank employee, inchgarth treasurer and long-term partner of Mr O’Connor Mr Andrew Murray thought it was such a good idea he pressed the like button as well.

So yet again the inchgarth chairman and manager is demanding the council to stand by their obligations to repair and maintain their building.

Question, Did inchgarth, Councillor Townson or any other inchgarth spokesperson at anytime tell Asda the council should, could or would have covered these repairs and their donation although they were grateful did not require to be given, yes or no?

Message to the inchgarth mob, before posting please follow these simple to understand rules, no swearing, no abuses towards disabled people, no abuses towards obese people or children, no abuses towards mentally ill people like your normal behaviour, this site has had its fill, no other questions will be answered apart from the above, please remember children visit this site as well.

The reason more screen captures are being released now is because all yesterday and last night we had over 30 requests from inchgarth for us to show the evidence, most can not be published due to content we have more if they want us to repeat this again!

BEDROOM TAX DEBATE IN COMMONS TODAY

IDS CHALLENGED TO ‘GET A GRIP’ OF HIS OWN DEPARTMENT

BEDROOM TAX CONFUSION CAUSING ANXIETY FOR THOUSANDS

 

Ahead of a Westminster debate on the Bedroom tax today (Wednesday) the SNP have called on the UK Government to rethink its plans after comments from the Work and Pensions Secretary betrayed his deep unease with the devastating impact of the policy.

Last Thursday, Iain Duncan Smith said that he had instructed his officials to “look again” at how the benefit cut would affect disabled people, after the Chief Executives of seven charities wrote an open letter to Mr Duncan Smith and George Osborne outlining their concerns. However, within hours IDS’s own department had ruled out any changes.

Figures released over the weekend by the Scottish Government estimated that eight out of ten households set to be affected by this benefit cut in Scotland are occupied by a person with a disability.

The SNP have now demanded that Iain Duncan Smith get a grip on his department and order them to review the policy as he had wanted.

Commenting ahead of the debate – led jointly by the SNP, Plaid Cymru and the Green Party – SNP Work and Pensions spokesperson Dr Eilidh Whiteford said:

 ‘’We know that over 80% of Scotland’s MPs at Westminster are totally opposed to this iniquitous measure.  On Wednesday we have an opportunity to reflect the deep and genuine worry about the Bedroom tax. We know that about 100,000 households are going to be hit by this policy and we know from our mailbags and surgeries that there is huge concern about how this new tax is going to hit the most  vulnerable in our communities.

  “Now we see the confusion and panic at the Department for Work and Pensions. Last week the Secretary of State Iain Duncan Smith ordered his officials to ‘look again’ at how this measure will affect the disabled following an approach by the Chief Executives of seven charities concerned about it. Now we are told there will be ‘no u-turns’ and it is full steam ahead for implementation in full.

 “We know that many elderly people are also worried about what this benefit cut really means for them. There is widespread alarm about the way this Government’s incompetence now extends to communicating how this new measure is actually going to work.

 

 “Iain Duncan Smith is clearly concerned about the impact of this policy – yet he appears to have been silenced by his own department. It’s time for Mr Duncan Smith to get a grip of his own department – and look again at this policy as he wanted. When they do, the devastating impact on some of the most vulnerable people in our society will become quite clear.”

 ”We are listening.  We are listening to the charities and civic bodies. We are listening to individuals who are shocked at the confusion and shambles and we are listening to those who understand that the new Bedroom  tax will hit the vulnerable, the disabled and those in greatest need of support. Iain Duncan smith is not listening. He needs to come to the House of Commons urgently and tell us all what he is doing to take account of all of these concerns.”

 2/Inclusion Scotland, the consortium of disability organisations and social partners who share their aims, commented on the news of the parliamentary debate, quote from spokesperson :

 ”Inclusion Scotland are extremely concerned about the potential impact on disabled people’s ability and right to live independently. The Under Occupation Rule or “Bedroom tax” discriminates against disabled people in that it has a totally disproportionate impact on disabled people and their families.  The Government’s own Equality Impact Assessment showed that two thirds of the households affected by the Bedroom Tax would contain a disabled person yet they pushed through the legislation virtually un-amended.

”Disabled people who use spare bedrooms to store equipment, wheelchairs and oxygen tanks have been informed that they will be penalised by the Under Occupation Rule as will couples forced to sleep apart because their very lives would be endangered through having to share a bed. We are appalled at the inhumanity and basic contempt for human rights that this Government are displaying in their attempt to make disabled people pay for a financial crisis brought on by millionaire bankers”

 3/ Commenting on the parliamentary debate and the growing concern about the Bedroom tax, a spokesperson for Age Scotland said:

” Age Scotland is very concerned about the impact the proposed changes will have on some older households – not just in terms of the financial pressures but also the impact on their health and wellbeing . It will increase pensioner poverty and could force people to use their retirement savings to support younger partners or relatives, putting undue pressure on family relationships

”There is also a real lack of clarity with pensioners being told by the Coalition Government that they won’t be affected by the changes. However, once  Universal Credit is introduced in October 2013,’mixed-age’ couples will be affected, and Age Scotland is already receiving calls from anxious couples worrying about how they will be expected to pay their rent.”

4/ There is also widespread concern in Scottish Housing Associations, as we have seen in their representations to the Westminster Government , including the excerpt of the letter below from the Chief Executive of the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations  Dr Mary Taylor to the junior Minister at the Scotland Office , David Mundell: 

“We remain very concerned about the under-occupation issues, not least given the escalation of rhetoric about non-payment of the Bedroom tax, so called purposely to resonate with the Poll tax, a debacle which left councils with a trail of debts only now being resolved only now being resolved in your own constituency. In addition there are not sufficient smaller properties to meet demand, which effectively penalises those people on low incomes who cannot move to smaller properties, and we remain even more concerned about the absence of safeguards to protect landlords’ finances. As Universal Credit is due to be implemented from October, such safeguards are not evident at present and may not be in place for several months according to DWP personnel.

Well we told you so last year, it seems we were perhaps right all along, in an extraordinary event inchgarth leaders came out yesterday for the first time in 18 months and told the people of Aberdeen that their HEALTH HAZZARD hall floor should have been repaired by the owners of the building instead of getting it from the registered charity the Asda Foundation.

Yesterday they were asked a list of questions to which very surprisingly they answered with almost total candour, we know this as the answers given could only have come from its leadership!

We asked about the main hall floor that inchgarth claimed early 2012 that it needed replacing and in March 2012 they had a concert to raise the money, 5 days later the centre announced it had completed the works and the £10,000 invoice was paid for then and there, inchgarth thanked its customers and moved on.

10 WEEKS LATER; Asda foundation announced through the garthdee store, announced they were donating £10,000 for the very same floor inchgarth had already announced to its users had already been completed and paid for, we knew at the time this was outside the foundations remit as any funds must not be paid into groups general funds but in this case it had to if inchgarth was telling the truth.

We and others contacted the management of the Asda Bridge Of Dee store and asked them to explain why at that time they were breaking their own local funding rules, to start with they said it was them paying for the flooring directly, we said that’s not true its already been paid for out of concert proceeds, they then changed their story to £6000 for a new floor in the corridor and £4000 FOR ANYTHING THEY LIKE? (GENERAL FUNDING) we then said but that job has been completed as well we were then passed to the most senior office manageress and told all £10,000 could be used for anything they liked in other words GENERAL FUNDING which the Asda Foundation forbids in its said rules.

Yesterday this matter grew even bigger legs, incharth confirmed not only should Asda not have paid for the said repairs but it was the full responsibility of Aberdeen City Council to do it for FREE as they had a duty of care for their council owned building.

We now find ourselves in a very bad place, Asda paid for an re-laid floor COVERING that should have been paid and carried out by Aberdeen City Council and as the money was paid into inchgarths general funding rather than paying for the floor works directly this money should be recovered and paid back into the foundations coffers as the said donation process was deeply flawed that may not have been the fault of the centre?

To make matters worse Asda head office claims the actual invoice given to them was £17000 not the £10,000 inchgarth already said was paid in full so where did the extra £7000 come from if Asda was telling the truth?

Was Asda fully aware the floor was covered for any repairs by the buildings owners ACC?

Was Asda FULLY aware the floor was already paid for in full before they issued their £10,000 donation?

If the money was used by inchgarth for general funding will Asda now start to recover the £10,000 to restore confidence in the Asda foundation processes and regulations?

Asda released a statement after the donation saying inchgarth was skint we now know this was untrue who told Asda, inchgarth was not well off in relative terms and required funding because the council would not pay or repair the hazardous flooring?

What checks were made at the time that this donation was been given for the right reasons?

Asda funding rules are as follows;

The Asda Foundation is set up to assist any charity in the UK as well as people and projects who require financial assistance. The Asda Foundation won’t consider applications where the money is to be used for salaries or will be paid into general funds.

The problem here was inchgarth applied for funding after it was already laid and paid for so was the said application botched by the local store who must have been aware of the works that had already taken place the inchgarth centre?

The inchgarth flooring mystery deepens even further today?

You will be very surprised to learn its not a local brand name that gets this award its the treasure trove of inchgarth community centre.

Inchgarth is rolling in dosh as you can see by the above screen capture inchgarth says its at 90% capacity which is wonderful news but it also means large sums of money are flooding in yet they told Asda only 7 months ago money at the centre was very tight indeed.

This means inchgarth halls charge around £25ph for the large hall and £15ph for the small hall the centre is open 9am-11pm 7 days so that’s 14 hours per day, seven days a week = 98 hours times two halls = 196 hours a week @ 90% capacity = 175 hours approx.

So we have 175 hours x an average of £20ph that’s around £3,500 per week just for 2 halls times that by 50 weeks the centre is open per day and its taking in over £175,000 at least if what inchgarth is telling the public is the whole truth and nothing but the truth!

Of course this is only two halls inchgarth lets out many more rooms than that and if the have over 200 sessions a week as they claim at say £10per let that’s at least another £2000 per week and with over 3000 footfall its little wonder they need a second café to keep up with demand!

Peggys café mark 1 made at least £40,000 and was tucked away at the back of the centre but the mark 2 café is going into the prime location at the front door area so should if managed correctly take in another £70,000 easily!

Please keep in mind there is only a select few at the centre is on the payroll including Mr O’Connor £30,000+ approx.

The chef, Mr O’Connors long-term partner the centres treasurer and one other, although this centre is huge they get over this hurdle by offering work for free volunteer placements where normal employers cant normally tap into a great resource like this it OK for a community centre!

Of course we are only scratching the surface here on top of this income generating machine we also have all the private functions and the bouncy castles, loads of them!

They also have corporate sponsors now the last time inchgarth released information, now completely removed from their site they said to be one you had to make a donation of £2000 pa approx.

Most of the income is not from the above it comes from grants, private funding and other charity type donations which can really add up and no one apart from the management committees but they are only told if the centre manager want to inform them of all details, that’s why the council did not want the centre managers and management committees chairpersons to be the same person but as luck would have it Aberdeen’s most successful business has this in place as O’Connor is both, go figure?

To complete this picture readers need to understand that this centre gets all its heating and electric bills paid by the council that’s why if you ever go around there late at night all or some of the lights are on all the time, some say this is to prove they are open as they get a grant to stay open late at night to the tune of another £10,000+, they don’t even pay for broadband or phone bills what other company would not want to jump into their shoes.

So what does the council who own the building get out of this arrangement? Good question, well nothing really, they pay the rates, they get no rent what so ever, and no commissions ever!

It gets better for one of Aberdeen’s most successful businesses over the past 10 years this business has had over £1m of refurbishment work paid for by the local tax payers.

Some of these works have went to family members and more money had to be spent on repairs but if they had their way no one is allowed to say these things.

Of course we now come on to internal works Asda gave them £10,000 because inchgarth told them money was hard to come by, WHAT?

Asda swallowed this line hook line and sinker!

This is a community centre mainly run by volunteers and has been operated this way for the past 17 years by a really dedicated team for the local community.

They have between 20-30 different groups using the centre per day/night from elderly groups, art classes and dance classes. It is a real central point of the local community. However as they try and keep charges for the venue and activities low so that it is available to all they do not have a lot of spare funds for repair and décor. (who is telling who porkies here)

The Foundation agreed to donate £10,000 towards the cost of the main room’s new floor as this is the most used and was starting to become a health hazard. (this was the responsibility of the council not asda or inchgarth’s)

Not now they can now have a new floor for the kids to dance away.

You may have noticed asda stated 30 groups a day use the centre so if pinky and perky wish to comment please refer to this comment above is true you will be asked?

Then we have BAA giving away 50 grand to a centre who claimed in their press release they were in fact a charitable association when we all know it was complete fiction on inchgarth’s part how can anyone trust a manager of this centre again for telling such blatant porkies, bad pinky!

The big question here, and both BAA and the centre refuses to answer, did incharth tell BAA this information before or after the said application was formally handed in?

This donation was meant to be for the benefit of local people but all that it will do is help the centre make even more profits, if its for the community will they be providing free tea and coffee for their centre users because they should?

The donation was meant to be for their benefits not the centres management team who will use it as an excuse to be paid even more salary!

You would think the person behind this centre an MBE holder would be happy to answer any questions about this, Aberdeen’s Most Successful Business but alas no chance the place is as secret as you know what!

But we have no doubt the next award will probably be the Queens award for industrial because if it was a registered business it could help pay our national debts!

An other question must be where all this cash goes because if they want something they just apply for grants all over again and as its not-for-profit association as we have been informed by ACVO where does the money go to?

Last week we have had two Aberdeen centre exposes, first was the case of inchgarth over many months of advertising for Volunteers without telling those said potential candidates that the centre did not have disabled toilets or wheelchair access and even though the centre claims inchgarth has disabled toilets which we never ever said they had not, all we said was they were advertising for able bodied volunteers only as there was no effort to explain this fact in the said adverts which is true.

They then blamed ACVO for the mess but even today they still have not corrected the said confusing adverts, why?

The next biggest topic was inchgarth “charitable Association” claim where they claimed to be a registered charity during a PR event inside the said inchgarth centre on the evening of the 22nd of November 2012.

OSCR said they could not do anything because the comments were put on third party websites but had the went on the centres site/s that would have been actionable so it was wrong to put out information which is untrue they are not a registered charity and this has been proved because they have admitted that on this website, so the question remains why did they do it in the first place but it gets worse now anyone can claim they are an charity as long as its on third party websites all thanks to this centre’s actions.

The centre has used this site to openly abuse the disabled, fat people and anyone they feel like diagnosing with mental illnesses yet here they are promoting their centre as being a hub worthy of all of Scotland, double standards, please read the site yourselves?

Information is king, some who have it don’t want to share it for various reasons, our loyal readers know we ask searching questions of everyone that appears on this site without favour and as the traffic grows so will the call for answers, we will not let our resolve slip no matter the level of abuse, disability discrimination or bullying of whatever nature.
