Scottish Home Report Rip Off

Scottish Home Report Rip Off

Many people in Scotland who have sold their property have discovered what it costs to sell their homes and Home Reports have to go down as the biggest rip off of all time.

England and Wales have seen the light and bombed this stupid regulation into touch.

Some people in Scotland sell their homes because of financial hardship and can little afford the average £600 Home Report costs and benefits no-one, for instance not many buyers would or may be aware that home valuations only lasts for 12 weeks after which the seller is required to get their property revaluated at around £150+vat every 3 months if the property is left unsold.

If that was not bad enough valuations are not required in Home reports, its only to the benefit to buyers and only if its carried out by the big players in the survey market and only then can it be used for mortgage purposes.

It’s another case of buyer beware.

Buyers cant use it if the reports are inaccurate so what’s the point of it at all?

The Scottish Government should scrap this stupid costly burden on the Scottish people who could least afford it.

Which Non-Profit Community Centres Over Charges?

Which Non-Profit Community Centres Over Charges?

International Scotland was alerted yesterday evening that some centre’s in Aberdeen which is said to be non-profit can charge disabled groups and the like up to £400 for a let and must comply with the centres own rules that it’s event visitors must use its own catering facilities and the only way the event Booker can generate income is by selling tickets?

If this is indeed correct why is centres allowed to operate as non-profit within Aberdeen City Council owned buildings and get away with what must be day light robbery given all centres in Aberdeen pays no utility bills or fees.

Its time ACC releases all community centre incomes for the year so we can see everything in transparency.

If councils are not aware of said incomes how do they know members of the public are getting a fair deal?

In these dark days of austerity every council penny has to be accounted for yet not for community centres as it seems perhaps some centres don’t need as much financial help as others.

Does not sound like, not for profit to us, do any of our readers have comments the wish to voice on this subject matter?

We know many City Councillors loves this blog, not perhaps they can come out of the shadows and come clean on their views regarding what centres should charge for event lets in so-called non-profit entities?

The Funniest Things Happen in Aberdeen

The Funniest Things in Aberdeen all happen in just one area.

On another note many readers have asked us privately why we don’t build a local dedicated  based website, we say if we did we would not have enough time to do anything else.

Take the latest funny to come out of this area of Aberdeen where a community council donates money to a local entity one day only for the said entity to hire a known problem bit of apparatus from; who do you think? Surely that can only happen in Aberdeen?

There is a leased community centre in Aberdeen that has both a chairman and a manager being the same person which is not allowed anywhere else in the UK never-mind Aberdeen yet the local council is terrified to act, why? Perhaps that same person did not sign it after all, oh well matters not, its still not allowed to take place or happen!

Aberdeen City council owns prime building land yet no department seems to know who owns it, manages it or even insures it but this website knows who runs it and pays nothing for the pleasure for these last few years, although the courts seems to be a grant or two waiting to happen, good old Andy Murray legacy comes to the rescue for these mouth balled and almost forgotten local loved landmarks.

Of course had the council still had full control perhaps they could have sought out the 1/4 of a million pounds available for a spruce up in grants currently being handed out if you have a several mouth balled tennis courts handy!
