RISING SUPPORT FOR THE SNP AHEAD OF UK ELECTION.
SNP SUPPORT AT 42% WHILE LABOUR AND TORIES ON THE SLIDE.
The SNP remains the most popular party in Scotland with a 20-point lead over its nearest rivals, according to a poll published by YouGov.
The poll found that 42% of voters are backing the SNP at the upcoming UK General Election on 12th December, with support for the Tories and Labour slumping to 22% and 12% respectively.
Commenting, SNP candidate in North East Fife Stephen Gethins commented:
“Voters in Scotland are sick fed up with Westminster and ready to escape the chaos of Brexit, which explains this strong poll showing.
“In stark contrast, the poll makes for dismal reading for the Tories and Labour who are out of touch and out of favour with voters.
“There’s no doubt that we’ve hit the ground running in this election campaign, and it’s clear that we have the wind in our sails with less than five weeks to go until the people of Scotland have their say.
“An SNP victory in this election will send the strongest possible message that Scotland wants to escape Brexit and have a choice over our future.
“That’s the choice facing voters in this election – and it’s vital that everyone who wants to get Boris Johnson out of Downing Street vote SNP as the only party who can beat the Tories in Scotland.”
