LABOUR CAMPAIGN IN SCOTLAND COLLAPSING.

LABOUR CAMPAIGN IN SCOTLAND COLLAPSING.

VOTE SNP TO BEAT THE TORIES, ESCAPE BREXIT AND PUT SCOTLAND’S FUTURE IN SCOTLAND’S HANDS.

The SNP has said Labour’s election campaign in Scotland is “on the verge of total collapse” as two candidates are sacked in one day and a former Labour MSP has backed the SNP.

SNP Deputy Westminster Leader Kirsty Blackman said it was now “beyond doubt” that only a vote for the SNP can beat the Tories, escape Brexit and put Scotland’s future in Scotland’s hands.

Tonight Labour was forced to sack their candidate for Gordon, Kate Ramsden, after having earlier sacked their candidate for Edinburgh South West, Frances Hoole. Last night, Labour Deputy Leader Tom Watson became the latest Labour MP to resign. While last Friday, Labour’s election campaign suffered another blow when former Labour MSP and current Glasgow councillor Anne McTaggart quit to join the SNP.

YouGov polling in Scotland has the SNP on 43%, the Tories in 20% and Labour and the Lib Dems trailing behind on 15% and 12%.

Commenting, Kirsty Blackman said:

“Labour’s shambolic election campaign in Scotland is in free fall – and on the verge of total collapse.

“After briefing their own supporters that Scotland is a lost cause – their candidates are now dropping like flies, while Labour MPs and supporters are quitting in their droves.

“It’s no wonder people in Scotland have absolutely no confidence in Labour, when they are willing to completely ignore Scotland and impose a devastating Brexit against our will – just like the Tories.

“It’s now beyond doubt that only a vote for the SNP in Scotland can beat the Tories, escape Brexit and put Scotland’s future in Scotland’s hands – not Boris Johnson’s.”
