PRESSURE GROWS ON TORIES TO RELEASE KEY SECURITY REPORT.

SNP: BORIS JOHNSON’S SUPPRESSION OF REPORT IS A THREAT TO DEMOCRACY.

The SNP has turned up the heat on Boris Johnson to publish a key report on the interference of Russian security agencies into UK democracy.

Today, it was reported that nine Russian business people who have donated cash to the Tory party are included in the document.

Last month, the Tory leader’s decision to delay the publication of the report by the Intelligence and Security committee was met with cross-party criticism.

Commenting, SNP Defence spokesperson and candidate for Glasgow South, Stewart McDonald said: 

“Boris Johnson’s continued suppression of this report is unjustifiable and poses a serious threat to our democracy.

“What are the Tories so worried about? With a general election just over a month away, voters deserve to know the findings of the report and the impact of illicit Russian activities on our electoral process.

“The longer Boris Johnson delays the publication of this report, the more people will start to think this clamp down is politically motivated.”
